The seemingly never-ending line of corporate entities supporting the Kashif and Shanghai Football Extravaganza continued yesterday when New GPC Incorporated injected half a million dollars into the 22nd edition of the tournament, which is set to resume tomorrow with a double-header at the GCC ground, Bourda.
Human Resource Officer of New GPC, Fay Scott, presented the company’s donation to co-directors of the tournament, Kashif Muhammad and Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major, at the entity’s location at Farm, East Bank Demerara.
''We at New GPC are pleased to be associated with the Kashif and Shanghai tournament, and our sponsorship of $500,000 will be in the form of cash and advertising'' Scott said.
She added that the pharmaceutical company is always pleased to support football and sports development in general.
Speaking on behalf of the K&S Organisation, Major thanked the management of New GPC for their support for the third year running.''This is a good gesture by the company and we want to thank them for the support''
Also attending the presentation was Accounting Officer of New GPC, Dwayne Lovell.
The competition, has a top prize of one pound of gold valued at G$4M.
