Georgetown: The Guyana National Referees Council (GNRC) has received a donation of gears from the New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation Inc. (GPC) on Friday, 27th January, 2017.
The donation was made under the “XCITE” brand and was presented by New GPC’s Marketing and International Sales Associate, Ms. Elizabeth Ram to President of the GNRC and Executive Committee Member of the Guyana Football Federation Inc. (GFF), Dion Inniss.
The donation consisted of eighty (80) shirts, forty (40) shorts, socks and warm-up tops and will aid referees’ training and other physical activity including fitness tests.
In an invited comment, Head of the Refereeing Department, Stanley Lancaster, lauded the company for the timely gesture, noting it was done at a point when the Council is expanding its membership.
He noted the interest and the confidence that the company has in the football fraternity which was demonstrated in its continued support and sponsorship.
The NEW GPC Inc. is a household name in Guyana and according to the company’s website, it is the Caribbean’s oldest and largest pharmaceutical manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter preparations of the highest quality.
